What We Believe/Our Theology...
The Bible
We believe that every word in the original manuscripts of the Holy Scriptures is inspired of God, complete, unified, and without error. We believe that it is, therefore, the final standard of faith and practice for the believer in Jesus Christ and for His church.
(Matthew 5:18, II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:21)
God
We believe in an eternal and personal God existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God. God the Father is the first person of the Trinity and is the source and ruler of all things and is fatherly in His relationship with believers.
(Genesis 1:1, 26, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 4:24, II Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s only Son and our sole mediator. We Believe in His pre-existence, His incarnation, His virgin birth, His substitutionary atonement, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His bodily return from heaven.
(John 2:16, I Timothy 2:5, John 1:1, John 1:1-14, Matthew 1:23-25, Romans 3:23-25, Acts 2:24-27, Acts 1:9-11, Titus 2:13)
Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit regenerates, indwells, and seals all believers who are yielded to God. He indwells all believers enabling and empowering them to live out the gospel.
(Matthew 28:19, John 3:3-7, Romans 8:9, I Corinthians 2:12, 6:19, Ephesians 4:30, Titus 3:5)
Man and Sin
We believe that all people are created in the image of God but possess a sin nature as a result of the fall of man in the garden of Eden. Because every human possesses a sin nature and is spiritually dead in their sins, they have no power in and of themselves to gain eternal life.
(Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 3:1-24, Romans 3:10-11, Psalm 53:3, I John 1:8)
Salvation
We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, apart from human merit, works, or ceremonies. The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Each person who receives Christ as personal Savior is born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby becomes eternally secure as a child of God.
(Acts 4:12, 16:31, Ephesians 2:8-9)
The Church
We believe that the Church is the spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and that there is a two-fold aspect of the church: the universal church and the local church.
(Ephesians 1:22-23, Philippians 2, 1 Thessalonians 2:13-14)
Resurrection and Judgments
We believe in the resurrection of the human body, the eternal existence of all men, in either heaven or hell; in divine judgments, rewards and punishments.
(John 5:25-29, John 11:25-26, I Corinthians 15:51-57, II Corinthians 5:10, Revelation 20:11-15)
